My scientific interests are beyond the disciplines. I am currently working in Complex Systems, understanding them as “dialectic interdisciplinary research not reducible to the sum of the disciplinary contributions”. My interests include topics in the philosophy of science, sociology of science, ecology, mathematics, physics and everything around them. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Computational statistics and stochastic\nmodeling at different scales:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Molecular scale: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Implementation and development of new\ntechniques of statistical analysis and molecular information modeling in order\nto generate novel and useful tools for the synthesis of compounds with high\nprobability of relevant biological activity. This project involves the use of\ndata analysis techniques (multivariate statistics, data mining, machine\nlearning and data science) to study and characterize large databases consisting\nof physical, chemical and topological descriptors of compounds and to explore relationships,\ncorrelations and dependences between structures, properties and biological\nactivities of the compounds. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Collaboration with Javier Ramirez and Pau Arroyo Ma\u00f1ez (UMYMFOR, Department of Organic Chemistry, FCEyN, UBA).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Population scale <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stochastic modeling of dynamical systems applied to population dynamics and epidemiology: development of mathematical models of vector borne-diseases of national and international sanitary importance. I have been studying vector-pathogen-host systems from an integral and interdisciplinary point of view, incorporating in the models not only the life cycle of vectors and hosts, but also those environmental factors and variables that affect them, in order to develop guidance, prevention and control tools, with application in human, veterinary and agricultural health.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I have been modeling the spatio-temporal dynamics of disease vectors such as Aedes aegypti<\/em>, Dalbulus maidis<\/em> and Peregrinus maidis<\/em>, and the spatio-temporal dynamics of some of the diseases they transmit such as Dengue and Yellow Fever (human diseases transmitted by the mosquito Aedes aegypti<\/em>) and Corn Stunt Spiroplasma (Maize disease transmitted by the leafhopper Dalbulus maidis<\/em>). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Collaboration with H. G. Solari (IFIBA-DF, FCEyN, UBA), M. Gim\u00e9nez Pecci (INTA-C\u00f3rdoba) and M. Natiello (Lund University, Sweden). <\/p>\n\n\n\n
